Green Logistics Initiatives

In a world where environmental impacts are steadily increasing, the responsibilities of businesses regarding sustainability and the steps they take in this area have become critically important. In this context, the logistics sector has also entered an era shaped by eco-friendly approaches. At Çobantur Logistics, we embrace sustainability standards by placing the "green logistics" mindset at the center of all our operations. Green logistics, which refers to adopting environmentally friendly practices in supply chain management and logistics processes, prioritizes factors such as energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint, and the sustainable use of natural resources.

While managing all our business processes in line with green logistics to reduce environmental impact, we also implement the Zero Waste Management System in our office and warehouse operations and separate recyclable waste. With this approach, we strengthen our logistics success while preparing for a sustainable future, and we aim to lead the transformation of our sector by planning our future investments around solar-powered facilities and digitalization-focused projects.

Green logistics, which includes business practices that minimize the environmental impact of logistics networks and deliveries, has become even more important today. As many companies in our sector have adopted this approach, we see numerous best-practice examples. At Çobantur Logistics, we carry out regular carbon footprint reporting every year, manage all emission-reduction improvements with a data-driven approach, and reduce transport-related emissions by supporting the use of EURO 6 engines. In this respect, receiving the Green Logistics Authorization Certificate from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in 2023 confirms our determination in sustainable transportation.

We adopt a multi-dimensional approach to managing carbon and environmental impacts, and we prefer lower-emission engines in our vehicles through the use of EURO 5/6 engines. On the intermodal side, we reduce fuel and energy consumption to lower carbon emissions. In addition, with our Zero Waste Management policy, we separate waste by type and send recyclable waste to the relevant licensed facilities. In terms of energy savings, we have conservation practices in place for lighting and device usage in our offices and warehouses. Regarding digital transformation, we have significantly reduced paper usage by digitizing processes that previously required physical documents. The shift of our customers toward low-carbon solutions in their supply chains shows that sustainable practices have now become a standard in the logistics sector. As Çobantur Logistics, we aim to lead the sector’s transformation by planning our future investments around solar-powered facilities and digitalization-focused projects to take our current measures even further. At the same time, as a distinctive step in the sector, we aim to reduce our environmental impact and strengthen our sustainable logistics practices by working with a partner whose Ro-Ro vessels use hybrid engine technology.

As tangible outcomes of all these projects, we achieved a reduction in paper usage, and thanks to our digital transformation, we delivered significant paper savings in document-required processes. We also reduced empty kilometers and fuel consumption. In line with this, we conducted more efficient transport operations through load optimization and route improvements. In energy and waste management, we achieved savings in electricity consumption in our office and warehouse operations. We separated all recyclable waste and directed it to licensed facilities. We also kept hazardous waste under control in accordance with regulations. In addition, through tree donations, social responsibility projects, and educational content, we created positive impact in both environmental and social sustainability and contributed to society.
